Haymarket Opera invites singers interested in historically inspired performance for a general audition. Interested applicants should submit their resume and an audio or video sample by October 1, 2019.

•Audio or visual recording of 17th- or 18th-century repertoire
Based on preliminary selections, those invited to audition will be notified by October 15th.
Selected invitations notified by October 15, 2019
Live audition dates: November 2-3, 2019
Location: DePaul University
Singers invited to audition are to provide 3-5 selections. Jory Vinikour will accompany auditions.
Please choose 17- and 18th-century repertoire with a variety of languages:
•Either French or German
•Selections with recit are recommended
Suggested composers: Monteverdi, Cavalli, Cesti, Mozart, Scarlatti, Haydn, etc for Italian; Lully, Gluck, Charpentier, Rameau for French; Purcell, Blow for English; Telemann, Bach, Mozart for German.
Singers will also be asked to prepare a spoken poem which will be workshopped with HOC Stage Director, Sarah Edgar. Sarah will work briefly on movement and gesture in audition.
