Musical Gems of the 17th Century

LIVE on WFMT

Vocal treasures will soar through the airwaves on February 27th when Haymarket Opera Company visits WFMT Studios for a live performance. Tune in to hear a tantalizing preview of Alessandro Scarlatti’s Agar et Ismaele, HOC’s Lenten Oratorio, before we perform the entire work later that week on March 3rd and 4th. Also on this varied program will be excerpts from Stradella’s San Giovanni Battista, the oratorio HOC recently performed at the Valletta International Baroque Festival in Malta; Antonio Cesti’s exquisite opera L’Orontea; and a beautiful aria from Marin Marais’ Ariane et Bachus.
