JS Bach’s Mass in B Minor is both the summit of Baroque choral music and one of the greatest human creative achievements of all time. Bach composed the work over a period of nearly two decades, completing it only one year before his death. He never heard it performed. Haymarket Opera Orchestra and the Chicago Chorale join forces in a single performance at the University of Chicago’s grand Rockefeller Chapel. Conductor Bruce Tammen leads the acclaimed Chicago Chorale. The Haymarket Opera Orchestra brings together America’s leading period instrument performers for what promises to be a sublime reading of Bach’s tour de force.
